Pushover analysis - Rigid Links

Post by JohnThomaidis »

Dear Seismosoft support,

I have simulated an 8-storey asymmetric building with two internal core walls. In order to simulate the core walls, I applied the equivalent beam-column modeling method using rigid links. Thus I have many connections between rigid link elements. Is this correct? I try to run a Pushover analysis but it is not feasible. The message I get is "Unable to apply the entire phase load". Is it possible that the multiple rigid connections are responsible for possible convergence issues? And if this is true, is there any other way to simulate the connection between rigid links?

Thank you.

Dear John Thomaidis,

You will find a number of posts on this matter if you carry out a search on this forum for the terms "unable to apply", "wall modelling" or "shear wall".

Also, you may find a list with the convergence difficulties that may arrise and their solution in the User Manual, the Help System and in the video below:
