Diaphragm

Post by hassaniiiii »

I want to model any type of diaphragms with arbitrary stiffness and features (i.e. rigid , elastic, inelastic ) for investigating influence of diaphragm on seismic response of RC structures. How can I do it with SeismoStruct?

I think a good place to start would be a forum search on "diaphragm" combined with a Help system search on the same. Perfectly rigid diaphragms might be modeled using constraints whereas diaphragms with a specific stiffness contribution and inelastic behavior pattern will require more creativity. Options might include strategically placed inelastic infill elements and/or inelastic truss elements with properties set to mimic the desired behavior.

Best of luck with this challenging project.
