Re: Modelling of a Nail as a non-linear link element
Dear Cianmc345, Currently, there are 29 response curves available within SeismoStruct that may be used in a nonlinear link element. One of them that might cover your requirements is the Gen_Hyst response curve, a generic uniaxial response curve characterised by Pinching effect and by four deteriorat...

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis
Dear obaidullah khan, In order for you to be able to define the frequency of output, you should take into account the initial number of increments/steps that have been defined in pre-processing and the number of steps that you want to receive in the output, i.e. in the Post-processor. You may define...

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis
Dear obaidullah khan, The problem is that the output file is too large. I ran the model as it is and the *.srf file is more than 38GB. I would suggest you to reduce the size of the output file by increasing the number of "Frequency of Output" in the Analysis Output tab, split the model to ...

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis
Dear obaidullah khan,
Please download the current version of SeismoStruct v2024-Release 2-Build 30, run the project with the current version, and let us know if you still receive the same behaviour. If you do so, please send us your model to check it.

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis
Dear obaidullah khan,
Could you please check if you use the current version of SeismoStruct v2024-Release 2-Build 30? If so, please check the selected parameters in the IDA Parameters tab of the Pre-Processor.

Re: Concrete Jacket Theoritical Basis
Dear Kirkaguel,
As i mentioned in my previous post, the increase in strength, stiffness and ductility of a retrofitted member results from the consideration of sections with both core, i.e. existing section, and jacket materials (concrete, longitudinal and transverse reinforcement).

Re: Concrete Jacket Theoritical Basis
Dear Kirkaguel, Calculations for jacketed elements for ASCE 41 are based on the same theory as for plain concrete elements. The increase in strength, stiffness and ductility of a retrofitted member results from the consideration of sections with both core and jacket materials (concrete, longitudinal...

Dear Kirkaguel,
The Code-based checks and the calculation of the required capacities are calculated according to the selected Code. You may check for the equations used in the User Manual and Help System of the programs.

Re: How to correct an earthquake accelerogram?
Dear shreejisteelcorp,
Baseline Correction and Filtering are available in SeismoSpect.
Please be sure that you are aware of the use and features of a specific program when you answer to another user's question, so that to avoid any misinformation and be able to really help other users.

Re: ADDITIONAL MASS
Dear Christine23, You may add additional loads in Slab elements and in Beams. Please check the units and if the applied value is the correct one. You may also read the List of SeismoBuild Convergence and Divergence Flags and the Tips to Solve Convergence Problems in SeismoBuild's User Manual and Hel...
