Re: Batch mode output text file problem

Hi,
Thanks again for your suggestions.
However I don't think they solve my problem (maybe i wasn't clear enough in my previous post).
Both your options to suppress the messages seem to work fine if the *spf was built or has been previously opened in SStruct2016.
However, if you try to run the ...

Re: Batch mode output text file problem

Thank you Zoi.
I am happy to see that the analyses can be performed with the latest release.
However, if the spf was build with the format of version 7, a message pops up saying that the "control node has not been defined... and the target displacement will not be calculated". The problem is that i ...

Re: Batch mode output text file problem

Hello,
I am aware of the problems with the batch mode in SStruct V7.
However given that i am using a large amount of models and that they are generate automatically from a Matlab script, i had to consider the SStruct V7 (at least at that time, the *spf in v.2016 were not easy to reproduce).
I ...

Re: IDA

Hi abazvand,
I believe the structure doesn't accumulate damage between different runs, i.e. the structure is set up to the initial conditions after each run.
Cheers

<t>Hi TUC,<br/>
<br/>
Let me just add some comments based on my past experience in this model/topic:<br/>
<br/>
- Different solutions to model the slab properties may result in significant differences at both global and local response parameters. This is particularly true for irregular structures ...

Re: comparing periods of vibration

<t>Hi raf,<br/>
<br/>
- Yes, i believe that is the expression.<br/>
- You can easily verify the total mass of the structure performing a static analysis and compute the mass from the total vertical reactions.<br/>
- You can apply distributed masses (mass/length) along elements - not mass/area. For ...

Re: chord rotations

<t>Hi,<br/>
<br/>
The values provided by SeismoStruct correspond to the chord rotation observed for each computed element. This is, if you define 3 elements to model one beam, the chord rotations provided correspond to each individual element of the beam, an the actual value need to be computed ...

Re: problem of convergence

<t>Hi,<br/>
<br/>
The use or not of the rigid diaphragm constraints should be decided based on the actual in-plan stiffness of the slab you are modelling (if you have a in-plan flexible slab its use is not recommended).<br/>
The use of this solution will constraint only the displacements of the ...
