Thank you for your replying, you are right D1-F1 is for axial force.
I am using isolator2 element. i am multiplying the input GMRs by 9.81 since the acceleration units are in "g", (Peer ground motion format) .
The D1-F1 hysteretic curves seems linear with very small disps but The D2-F2, D3-F3 ...

Re: Friction Pendulum Isolators
Hello,
I performed an incremental dynamic analysis (ground motions are applied on x, y, z directions) on a base isolated building (with 16 friction pendulum isolators), when i checked the link hysteritic loop (D1-F1, D2-F2) it doesn't not look like a loop of a base isolator, the loop is not smooth ...

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis
Hi,
I am doing incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) for a ten story base isolated building (with friction pendulum isolators).
My supervisor told me to set the damping as follows:
Mode 1: T1:4.05, damp:2%
Mode 2: T2: 0.1, damp: 2%
However I increased the damping to 4% for model1 and mode 2 it works ...

Re: Friction Pendulum Isolators
hello everyone,
i am modeling a building with friction pendulum isolators, i performed an incremental dynamic analysis. i checked the results and recognised that there is a displacement at the base node which is fully fixed. the isolators are place on top of that columns. what am i doing wrong?

Re: incremental dynamic analysis, curve multiplier
thank you for your response,
1: as you said that the software multiply the ground motion record automatically with 9.81, so instead of 9.81 i wrote 1 in the curve multiplier box and the results are strange for me, i got very low base shear forces and small isolator displacements.
2: i performed ...

hello everyone ,
i modeled a base isolated structure in seismostruct .
when i run it i get an error.
the error message is:
