Dear Zoi
I've changed the element from InfrmDB to elfrm, but still not working. I read the seismostruct manual it says "There are cases where the use of an inelastic frame element is not required (e.g. members subjected to low levels of excitation and thus responding within their elastic range ...

Re: Modeling a pin connection between crossing elements
Dear Zoi
The type of elements that I have used for my model are - infrmDB (M2a,M2b,M3a and M3b releases) and infrmDB + truss elements. The model works in eigen value. I have tried different convergence criteria referring to seismostruct video.
But none of them seems to work in adaptive pushover ...

Modeling a pin connection between crossing elements
Helloo, I have a structure with pin connections (node E) connected to crossing elements (BD elements and CE elements). How to modelling pin connection between crossing member like this?

Re: Unkown Error and Zero diagonal Term
I've checked the node connection and its members. When I use infrmdb there is no problem, but when I change to truss it gets an error. Do I have to set a constraint?
here's a picture of the structure when using infrmdb

Unkown Error and Zero diagonal Term
hello i have a problem when doing eigen analysis.
I am using truss element connectivity. Here is written a zero diagonal warning. And when I run eigen analysis the result is unknown error. Can anyone help me what is going on?
Best Regards
Hanif Nanda

Re: Element classes for steel space frame with rigid joint
Thank, for your answer.
I did an adaptive pushover analysis. Based on what you said "relatively short element". What is the maximum element length? If doing adaptive pushover analysis, which is more accurate, force-based or displacement-based?

Element classes for steel space frame with rigid joint
I'm working on my final project on electric transmission tower with L steel material as shown in the photo. What element classes is suitable for my project? and why?
