cyclic loading for masonry infilled frame
i am doing cyclic loading using a truss element to model masonry infill wall, i am using static time history analysis to do so.. but my analysis does not complete saying unable to apply load and when i check displacement response of top nodes one node at which the load is applied shows cyclic ...

Wrong element type
I am modelling infill wall as a strut element. the error is appeared during analysis
"Wrong element type passed to SetZeroStressPnt procedure"
Can you please help me why this error coming?? I have made an RC one storey one bay bare frame (No error), but when I add an equivalent strut as truss ...

truss as elastic material?
hi
Can I make truss element as an elastic material??
There is no elastic truss element in the program.
So to do this, I used elastic frame element and then assigned moment releases so it should not take moment load. (I did this in SAP)
But after running the analysis , the elastic frame element ...

UNABLE TO APPLY ENTIRE LOAD or RANGE CHECK ERROR
Hi,
I am using SeismoStruct for modeling infill walls. I have already asked few problems regarding the infill model and the support provided by the forum and Seismosoft member is appreciable.
I am running the analysis, but it gives the error "Unable to apply entire load" or "Range Check Error"
If ...

Re: Infill wall using Crissafulli Model
See i think software have some sort of problem because A/c to Crissafulli shear strength depends on bond strength and friction coefficient (Elastic Response- before the bond shear strength is reached Equation 8.14 of Crissafulli thesis). But when I increase the bond strength no changes has been ...

How to manually verify the infill strut forces?
Hi,
How can I manually verify the infill axial strut and shear strut forces obtained from the SeismoStruct software?
I want to know the formula for the strength of the strut but software doesn't show me in its help. It directly plot the strut 1 strut 2 and shear 1 curve showing axial force, axial ...

Re: Infill wall using Crissafulli Model
Thanks for the answer.
How do the software calculate Infill panel forces of Shear 1?? Which formula is used??
Like I verified for compressive strut that for Strut 1 it calculates axial load by multiplying fm' with Area of strut(A2)

Infill wall using Crissafulli Model
hi everyone,
Why there is no effect on the peak strength when I am changing the shear bond strength and maximum shear in inf_shear curve with taking friction coefficient as approximately zero i.e 0.00001
like if i take shear bond strength=1 and max shear=1 and friction=0.00001 the peak value of ...
