Yes, I know. Anyway, i can't get eigenvalues of a simple Euler column on Seismostruct ? Because, that's what is happening with my simple model, i can't get the eigenvalues nor any result from a force solicitation.
Thank you

Buckling analysis
<t>Hi.<br/>
<br/>
Is seismostruct capable of making a buckling analysis ? i.e. using a Euler's column model, is there any option that can provide Euler's critical load and deformed shape of the element ?<br/>

Re: Cable with sections of different material
<t>Thanks for the answer.<br/>
Thus, the elfrm approach was my first try on modeling the bracing element, but even with pinned elements on both ends of the bracing element - i.e M2 and M3 release then S500 elfrm then SMA then S500 elfrm with M2/M3 release - with x+rx+ry+rz restrained nodes on the ...

Cable with sections of different material
<r>Hi, once again.<br/>
<br/>
i'm having trouble in modeling my bracing system, I've a design in which I've a cable with sections of different material. The problem is that the program returns the message "MAX TOOL" on the first iterations - clear sign of instability- although I've fixed every ...

Re: Nonlinear problem - Unable to apply
<r>Sorry to bother you again , but I've made a model with bracing elements (tensegrity with sma cables) on the three floors of the structure and when i change the diameter of the SMA cables i get some strange (rather impossible) deformed structure, besides that, when the program actually runs (e.g ...

Re: Nonlinear problem - Unable to apply
<t>huffte, thank you very much for your help. I've restrained the n1tes, n2tes, n3tes and n4tes at x+rx+rz+ry and maintained the moment releases at both ends. The program runs perfectly and i get null moment at both ends of every element of the bracing system.<br/>

Re: Nonlinear problem - Unable to apply
<r>Yes, i'm developing a sma damping system using tensegrity proprieties, I've made the model of the bracing element and it was successful, but when i try to insert it in the benchmark structure, the program doesn't run.<br/>

Re: Nonlinear problem - Unable to apply
<t>I've tried it before the comment, yet all i'v got was a Prd_ite on the first iterations instead of the Maxtool, I've tried to change the convergence and elements criteria on the option menu but with no success. I've made a eigenvalue analysis with the moment released elements and the results are ...
