Re: min axial strain

Hi. I have a brace in my model that is 4 parts and each of the parts has 5 integration sections(FB element). could I find the <min strain> of the whole of the brace??? seismostruct has only strain of sections!

Hi seismosoft,
when do you publish the new version?

Re: fbd_inv error with pinned beams

Hi seismosoft,
I have modeled a 2d structure with your guidance and using link elements instead of end release but there's a problem. The displacements are too large. May this problem has a relation with link elements and Rayleigh damping?

I want to select the minimum axial strain of a member in a timehistory analysis and I use minimum number of <min Strain>. Is this method true for ...

Re: moment in the end of brace pinned with link

seismosoft,
1)There's no distributed load on elements.
2)When I use force-based convergence criterion the analysis diverges. because I have rigid elements in my model.

Re: moment in the end of brace pinned with link

Dear Stelios_Antoniou,
Convergence criterion is Displacement/Rotation. Strain hardening is 0.004458

Re: moment in the end of brace pinned with link

<t>Hi huffte,<br/>
1) The first model was 3D and I changed it to 2D(fema365). So I consider out of plane buckling.<br/>
2) I used effective duration of arias intensity from seismosignal.<br/>
3) As I said the model was 3D with rigid diaphragm so I used constraint to approximate the effect of rigid ...

Re: moment in the end of brace pinned with link

huffte,
I sent the model to Tim.Huff@tn.gov . M2 in braces is important for me to be about zero.
