infill wall

Post by zhangjun »

good morning!

I would like to ask how should I go about constraining the overhanging nodes after modelling this type of infill wall next to a column in the file?

Is it possible to provide a simple example?

Thank you!

Dear zhangjun,

You should connect the infill to the same nodes with the adjacent columns and beams. You may also assign Horizontal and Vertical offsets to account for the depth of the frame members. You may read the SeismoStruct's User Manual or Help System for further details.

You may find models with infills in the Sample models available in the following link:

PS: Perhaps in this model, you should just assign their gravity loads for the infills you have pointed out, since they are not connected to a structural frame.
