SeismoBuild & SeismoStruct Sample Models

In our continuous effort to develop an interactive relation with all the users that trust and support our applications, a new platform has been introduced to our website, whereby any user is able to present his/her modelling work in SeismoStruct, so that to inspire and assist others.

Users, who are interested in exhibiting their models, may send them to support@seismosoft.com. The projects will be evaluated by a committee of members specialized in earthquake engineering, so as to ensure that the most interesting and representative projects of advanced modeling features will be published.

Particular effort will be made to publish as many models as possible, however we note that we cannot guarantee the publication of any model.

This consists of 20 independent stick models of varying stiffness and strength properties. The models are made up of link elements which act as isolators. The user can see how the different models respond to the input excitation – an east-west component of the M7.3 Taiwan SMART1(45) event. Hysteretic curves exhibit the expected behavior. The model was created by Dr. Timothy E. Huff of the Tennessee Tech University.

This model represents a single bridge bent with an isolated mass. The user may clearly observe when the isolator breaks away during the running of the analysis. This model includes an entire 7-span bridge. The superstructure is modeled as a spine element. Isolators are modeled with links at the interface between each substructure and the superstructure. The model takes a very long time to run, But may be useful in demonstrating modeling techniques for a complete structure. The model does permit complete analysis and the various hysteretic curves of the isolators may be compared at each substructure. The model was created by Dr. Timothy E. Huff of the Tennessee Tech University.
