1) It is written in Help System that "total viscous damping forces (which are the product, at every analysis step, of the damping matrix with the velocity vector)". I would like to learn if the velocity vector taken into consideration in solutions is relative velocity vector or total velocity vector?
2)Is it normal to find same global damping forces for the systems with "link+damping" element and "link" element?

1) relative velocity.
2) if the link is experiencing relative displacement/velocity between its nodes, the global damping should not be the same. If you are getting such a result, please send us the model so that we investigate the matter further.

We have looked into the model you sent us. There are indeed some variations with and without link damping, but they are not significant within the realms of the response of the entire frame.
Have you tried modelling the one link alone, with and without viscous damping, to better appreciate the effect of the latter in the response of the former? If not, we would suggest that.
In any case, your model appears ok to us (the only thing is that it is perhaps being pushed excessively into the nonlinear range).
