Link and dashpot elements

Dear Seismosoft,
I wonder if the dashpot element can be assigned through a structural model. If it can be assigned, how can the series or parallel coupling of damping and stiffness be assigned with link and dashpot element? The link element can be assigned with two structural nodes (clone nodes so the link element is a zero length element) and two non-structural nodes, four nodes in total. The dashpot element can be assigned with one node.
Best regards.

Soydan,

It would seem that parallel behavior between a link and a dashpot could be obtained by connecting the dashpot to Link Node No. 2 with the dashpot property in the direction corresponding to Link degree-of-freedom 1 set to the desired value.

Recall that a dashpot is always connected to the ground in SeismoStruct, however. So true series or parallel behavior would depend on the nature of your model.
