I think plotting Story shear(=maximum lateral story force) along the story level maybe is a useful output in dynamic analysis, because all necessary parameters are ready for using.

This is not necessarily straightforward, since, without user intervention, a finite element program, such as SeismoStruct, cannot know what a given storey is made of.

Hence, the solution discussed in http://www.seismosoft.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=709 is still the best option, especially if the 'Groups' function is employed.
