Hi,
How can I apply distributed mass on a slab which I have defined as a rigid diaphragm.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Muntasir. I wonder if creating a model from the wizard for eigenvalue analysus or dynamic time history analysis might give some insight on how you might do this.
You'll be able to accept defaults and find that rigid diaphragm nodal constraints are created for each floor level and the beams and columns have their own masses, but you can also add distributed mass to the members vis the 'dmass' element class.
You might give it a try and see if some things are cleared up and your analysis needs are met. I hope this does help a bit Muntasir.

Hi Huffte,
Thanks for your prompt response. I tried exactly the same way by creating the model using wizard. I want to provide distributed mass on the slab. But the distributed mass can be provided between two nodes which is kind of providing loads on the beam line. I am trying to put distributed mass on the whole slab. Do you have any suggestion on this regard?

Dear Muntasir,
in the present version of the software that feature ('floor mass') is not available.

Hi Federica,
Thanks for your help. Is there any way I can define floor mass?
