Hi,

I'm new to this software, and I need to validate an experiment through a numerical model by comparing hysteretic curves. For that I need to apply the loading protocol as time history curve, however, in experiments, the curve is given in terms of displacement vs number of loading cycles. But the input of the time history to the software is in terms of time vs load factor. I am confused on how to do that, I tried to find how to do that, but no luck so far. Can someone please help me how to do that?

Try looking over some of the Verification Examples. Start with Steel Frame Example 1 on Page 88 of the Verification Manual. In this example, the applied load is a static time history displacement, which is the type you need it seems. See also Infilled Frame Example 1 on Page 101 of the Verification Manual, Infill Frame Example 2 on Page 105, Infill Frame Example 3 on Page 109 . . . . Note that the project files are also available to load so you can better follow along with verification examples. Best of luck.

Thank you so much. I referred to those examples and completed my model. However, when I tried to run my model, I get an error saying "General Error. The analysis cannot be executed". It does not say what is wrong with my model, nor I see anything wrong in my model. Do you have any idea what this error means and how to solve it. I used SeismoStruct V2023 version.

This is probably an error of the program that must have been fixed in the more recent releases.
Please download the most recent v2024 release and try running the model. If the problem persists, please send the model to support@seismosoft.com
