Dear Seismosoft,
I wonder how can I introduce the pinching effect inside the behavior of a steel beam-column connection without using link element(s). I'm using Menegotto-Pinto steel model (stl_mp) for representing the behavior of steel.

The hysteretic behaviour of the frame elements is directly related to the section material properties.
Typically, a pinching effect appears with small values of the concrete confinement factor (con_ma model), and small values of the steel stran-hardening parameter.

High values of axial loading and the use of hollow sections will also introduce pinching.
