Hi, I'm a new user. How the value of GJ in Element Class for elfrm element is being calculated for a rectangular section (e.g. 1.2mx0.2m)?

In example 5 – Partial fixity end release, the value of Mass/length = 0.00024288 [kip×sec2/in2] is given. However, my calculation = (0.15x540/123x386.2205) = 0.00012136 [kip×sec2/in2]. Please explain.

In example 11, a lumped mass of 0.49 kip-sec2/in is applied in the X-direction. How it was calculated? I tried but my answer does not match. Please help.

The GJ value for all sections are calculated from the basic elasticity theory, e.g. G=E/(2x(1+PoissonRatio)).
Example 11 is a standard verification example in the literature. This is how the mass was introduced, it is not related to the sections of the structure.
In example 5, we could not follow your question. Can you please explain it a bit further?
