Deformation of Core Wall

Hello!

I am writing (again) in the forum to try to solve the issue with a core wall that I modeled.

I made the core wall as a RC concrete wall and then put rigid links in every panel as seen in blue in the link . Next I connected it to the beams (circle in red) with restrictions only in X and Y direction. But when I run the model the deformation of the core wall is not correct. it deforms the 1st floor and than it makes a linear deformation not like a cantiliver as I understand it should deform.

I have tried many things, connect the wall to other beams, constrain more degrees of freedom, model a wall with a hollow etc but nothing seems to "work". If somebody could help I would appreciate it.

Best Regards

psi_14,
First, we cannot see the pictures that you attached, since it requires access approval.
Secondly, the general concept of modelling a core wall is the following:
1) you model the parts of the core wall as rectangular sections connected with rigid links at the top and the bottom
2) the beams are connected to the walls but an rigid offset should be placed in the element at the end of the beam in the area of the beam-wall joint.

Try to model a core wall and the adjacent beams with the Building Modeller and see how this is modelled.

Thank you for the answer. I will try to ilustrate the deformation with a new image (red is a straight line, green is a deformation that I expected to be the one in all the core wall)

I will explore it in the building modeller, I have to remodel everything from scratch, right?

Indeed, you will need to remodel it in the Building Modeller. However, given that the model is not large, it will probably take you an hour or even less to model it.
