Size limitation of the output file

Hello,

In the User Manual, it is written that due to a RAM limitation in SeismoStruct, the maximum results size that can be opened from the Post-processor is 4GB in 64-bit Windows systems and 3GB in 32-bit Windows systems.....

For my part I can't read the results beyond 2GB. Knowing that I'm using an i7 with 8GB of RAM.

Is it because I have an academic license ?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Doudine,

The note that "due to a RAM limitation in SeismoStruct, the maximum results size that can be opened from the Post-processor is 4GB in 64-bit Windows systems and 3GB in 32-bit Windows systems.....is not well written. It is supposed to mean that there is a size limitation of the output file (4GB in 64-bit and 3GB in 32-bit Windows), after which the program is not able to read the output results.

This has nothing to do with the academic version. It is a limitation of all the available versions.

Dear Gronti,

Thank you for that clarification.

My problem is that I can't read the results beyond 2GB ?

Thank you.

Doudine,
It is an issue of the operating system, rather than the software itself.
What you can do is to increase the Output freqquency from the Output tab of the pre-processor to 2 or a larger value.
