Hi,
How can I calculate the confinement factor for hollow circular column?

We are not sure it is possible to mobilise much concrete confinement in a hollow section, but you may obviously carry out a literature search on the subject.

2 References that may help:

1. "Seismic Design and Retrofit of Bridges", Priestley, Seible, and Calvi, 1996, Wiley, ISBN 0-471-57998-X, page 147

2. "Flexural Strength and Ductility of Circular Hollow Reinforced Concrete Columns Without Confinement on Inside Face", ACI Structural Journal, Vol. 87, No. 2, March/April 1990, pp. 156-166.

In these references it is noted that the inner hoop actually has a negative confining effect upon the section and that many cross-ties are required.
