Scaling Method

What is the scaling method used in this new program Seismoselect is it direct amplitude scaling or you can also select spectral matching?

It is direct scaling. Spectral matching can be performed with SeismoMatch.

If RotD50 is the basis of scaling (the basis of the computed spectral ordinates for the ground motion records), the the basis of the input, specified target response spectrum should be RotD50 as well.

So, in other words, you can go really awry if you, for example, specify a RotD100 target and scale RotD50 record spectra to that target. The two need to be consistent (the target and the computed ground motion spectra).

Hello everyone.
Does anyone know how the SeismoSelect determines the difference between target response spectrum and the selected time series mean response spectrum (spectral misfit)? Does this spectral misfit count as mean squared error (MSE) or sum squared error (SSE) or samting alse?

The algorithm employs the sum of squares error.
