rigid offsets

Greetings dears,
I get many helpful points in this seismostruct forum. And now I need your support.
I am not clear with how to consider rigid offsets at beam-column joints. To be more specific, let's say a part of a beam from the face up to center of a 400 mm column is to be considered as rigid offset at both ends, what will be the values of dx at node 1 and node 2 (for the beam oriented along x-axis) to be input in element connectivity module; and shall I input any dy and dz values too for this beam.

with regards;

I believe that dx at node 1 would be 200 mm and dx at node 2 would be -200 mm, I believe. The graphical depiction in SeismoStruct is very useful in this regard as it shows the 'shortened' beam with both ends stopped at the column face. This assumes that the beam is indeed situated such that the global x direction coincides with the beam longitudinal axis. Things get a little bit more complicated otherwise. So always examine the graphics of the plotted structure to see if the intent has been achieved.
