Dear sir/Mad.
In a sample one-story braced system, I have divided brace into two portion. ( the cross section of the brace is constant)
The roof displacement response from NLTHA for the original and divided model is not identical. I DONT know why.

and the brace is buckling restrained brace.

Is it an X-brace? Can it be that in the model with the divided brace the central node is connected, whereas in the other model the two parts of the X-brace are not linked?
