What is the appropriate element in Seismostruct that can be used to model post tension rocking wall that captures its flag shape hysteretic behaviour?

Hi Kirkaguel,

There are many ways in which post-tensioned rocking walls may be modelled in Finite Element programs, either using nonlinear spring/link elements alone or through a combination of nonlinear frame/shell elements plus nonlinear springs/links.

As an example, I can point you to Chapter 2 of this thesis, where you will find a good discussion of different approaches that one may follow, of which many may be carried out in SeismoStruct. (do note that many other technical publications can be found in the literature, further addressing this modelling issue)

Best,

Rui
