Hi. I want to buy a machine to use seismostruct to perform IDA analysis in buildings of up to 4 levels. What would be advisable in terms of processor, video card, RAM and other important features taking into account the time taken by these analyzes? Would it be better to buy a desktop computer or a laptop?

Any common PC would be ok for your analyses. Nothing very fancy is really required.
Maybe we could suggest:
Processor: at least Intel Core i3
Memory: at least 8GB
Also, make sure that you have a large disk drive for storing the results (if you have hundreds of analyses prefer 1TB than 500GB), and, if you have big models, a relatively good graphics card (a 4 storey building is not a very large model).
