how to model rotational spring

I want to model a semi-rigid beam column joint from an experimental moment-rotation curve. the curve is a nonlinear one which gets back to origin upon load reversal(without any permanent deformation). How can i produce this behavior in seismostruct?

Hi, Muntasir.

I was flicking through your query and I've never tried to do so, especially modelling a nonlinear curve which has no energy dissipation within load reversal.

I guess you can try to build a Nonlinear elastic curve - nlin_el, from the SStruct links elements, calibrating its four parameters to represent your curve as much as possible.

You could try as well to approximate your curve to a trilinear curve, and then use trl_sym link element, but then you would have a hysteretic behaviour...
