Access to source-code

It would be excellent if this program could be available as OpenSource, so that we could all contribute to its developments. Can this not be done?

We very much appreciate the noble efforts of OpenSource developers. However, coding in an "open-source manner" a user-friendly graphics-interfaced advanced structural analysis package that is easy to use by practitioners, academics, researchers and undergraduate students alike, requires the sort of human resources that we currently do not feature in SeismoSoft. That is, putting it in very simple terms, it is much easier and faster to develop code that only a few are supposed to access, understand and improve, than it is to develop a platform that is to be interpreted and developed by a multitude of developers worldwide. We simply cannot afford that.
Nonetheless, and as stated elsewhere, we still provide users with the possibility of developing new material models and response curves, which can then be readily introduced in SeismoStruct, and we also regularly develop new elements or analysis capabilities that are requested by users, ensuring in this way that new features are in general bug-free and accessible to all (because they are implemented and checked by ourselves directly).
