Dear firends

i modeled one steel unstable frame ( with hinge-ended columns) which holds four concrete panels with link elements, that they are connected to steel frame and base with these link elements,i run the static time history analysis but when i observe the horizontal reactions, two of them are in one direction and the other two in opposite direction, which, it is false.all of them must be in one direction .

please guide me

Can it be that the time-history loads are small with respect to the initial gravity loads?

I apply displacement up to 30cm as a load and the gravity load consists of just the frame and concrete panel weight there is no any extra weights , how can over come the mentioned problem.

As we explained in our email exchange, it is not possible for us to provide personalised support to all the SeismoStruct users. This is even more true in cases of complicated and unconventional ways of modelling, as is the case of your model. For example, we cannot understand why you use elfrm elements elem34,36,37,39 and the link elements to connect the different parts of the wall.

As a first step, we would recommend you to make the convergence criteria most stringent (e.g. introduce a force-based criterion) and to check how the forces are distributed from top to bottom. Further, we suggest that you simplify the modelling of the wall (we stress again that we could not understand how the wall is modelled).
