Hi, I am using SeismoStruct V 6.5 build 200 by academic license. But i need to do model of 12 story hospital building. but in the wizard modelling the max. no. of story is 8. But i need to do the model very quickly. What i can i do? Does the above version allow to model more than eight story or not? if yes then how? if not then give me suggestion.

You can define your model with coordinate of each element while wizard have a limit.

You can use the incrementation facility of SeismoStruct.
By assigning in the first storey nodes and elements with numbers between 1-99, you can then employ the incrementation facility the derived the upper storeys (i.e. 2nd storey with nodes/elements 101-199, 3rd storey with 201-299 etc).

While all the above methods could be used to define any type of model in SStruct, owing to the great interaction between SStruct data input and Microsoft Excel, I personally use SAP 2000 to define my models geometry (especially when dealing with large number of nodes in a complex geometry).

You can create your model in SAP 2000, then go to:
Display>Show Tables and select "Joint Coordinates" and "Connectivity Frame" and then export these values in an EXCEL file.
The "Joint Coordinates" and "Connectivity Frame" data could be used to define your NODES and ELEMENT CONNECTIVITY in SStruct. This step already eliminates any need for node numbering for you and checking each member's end node names. However, remember that you need to do some manipulation on the SAP data output to make it readable by Struct when you try to paste it, which is really straightforward.

Again, that's a personal preference only and did help a lot on using SAP to make the complex bridge and building models in SStruct.
