Displacement seismogram, data processing

Hi all,

I have a question regarding the baseline correction of signals. As the accleration and velocity seismograms are zero at the begining and end of the signal, hence i can use seismosignal for baseline correction either linear or higher order polynomial. But in case of displacement seismogram we may have residual displacement. Can I use seismosgnal for this problem. Could you please guide me as how to perform the baseline correction for displacement seismogram.

Your scholarly comments and suggestions will really help me

I look forward your kind reply

Kind Regards

Hi Ahmad,

Unfortunately, we are not full-blown seismology experts, hence cannot really help much here, but rather simply confirm that using SeismoSignal's baseline correction directly on displacement time-histories will indeed tend to eliminate permanent displacements, which may not necessarily be always correct.

Best regards,

On this issue, is there a way to filter the signal in a frequency range beyond what is on the slider? For longer duration records, filtering at periods longer that 1 sec seems like it would sort of common.

Hi, have you tried typing-in the values directly, rather than using the slider?

Thanks. Once I got used to entering decimal values in the right format, works fine.
