RC column-beam joint

hello
I am investigating the seismic behavior of the reinforced concrete column-beam joint using seismostruct.I attend to use link element to connet column and beam. But I must define the behavior of link element with six degree of freedom that I don't have any idea.So I want you send me literature or paper for these.Thank you very much!

Hi
We are afraid that this is a tough question for which no easy answer is available. All past research work in this area (modelling of beam-column joints) is inconclusive (i.e. no agreed and uniformly-applied model has ever been devised).
As a starting point, you might want to have a look at the many papers published by L.N. Lowes, even if these might give rise to more questions than answers.
We repeat, it is a difficult research subject, and you will need to carry out an extensive literature survey and/or be creative.

Hello,
And thank you for the excellent support you offer to your forum users!
I am also looking into modelling RC beam-column joints and have a preliminary question. It is my understanding that in SeismoStruct beam-column joints are modeled as (practically) rigid joints, unless the user introduces link elements. However, link elements connect to initially coincident structural nodes. If all this is correct, then my understanding is that one can at most implement scissor-type models (w/ or w/o rigid ends) and that it is impossible to implement "panel"-type joint models. Any feedback/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Niki, thanks for the kind words.
We suspect that you should be able to implement panel-type joint models through an appropriate combination of rigid links (or rigid elements) and links.
It will probably be cumbersome, but it should be possible to do it (though convergence might then become difficult).
