Dear Seismo, may I know can I apply the reversed loading in the static pushover analysis?(I mean apply the load from x direction to -x direction repeatedly) Thanks a lot.

Hi Tracy,
If you are using response control, set negative value to the target displacement. If you are using load control, set negative value to the loading factor.

Dear Tracy,
Why don't you use static time history beside Pushover analysis?
With that analysis type you can define loads history in any story.

Salar is indeed correct; using Static Time-history Analysis would seem a more appropriate way of modelling cyclic (pushover) analysis.

Thank you for your suggestion. I think I'd better use static time history. quote:Originally posted by salar

Dear Tracy,

We just noticed the word 'repeatedly' in your initial message, initally we thought you simply wanted to run one pushover in the -x direction. Indeed, static time-history is the best way to model what you are trying to do. You can do it with pushover analysis as well by using different phases with different targert displacements, however things are rather complicated that way. Static time-history is much better and easier.
