Frame Force ( Shear force of columns)

Post by bavafa612006 »

Hi Dears,

In seismostruct while the the nonlinear dynamic history analysis were done, the shear forces of story will not be started from zero and I want to know why this happen? Normally in shear force- Time history diagram the diagram should start from zero for one ordinary column. Please help me if you know the issue.

Permanent loads are applied at t = 0. The specified permanent loads evidently create shear forces in the columns.

The permanent (or initial or gravity) loads are the loads applied at the beginning of the analysis, before the application of the dynamic earthquake loading. The shear of any given column should be different from zero at t=0, however the total base shear at the ground level should be zero.
