Hi,
I have 2 questions:
1.How does Seismosignal do acceleration correction?I mean what is its Formunlation to do this?
2.when I used "paste command" I had one result and when I opened it with "open Command" I had another result.can you Explain why?
thanks

Hi marzikm.
For the first question, I'll simply recommend that you refer to the cited references in the SeismoSignal Help System. Most notably, a good starting place would be:
Boore D.M., Bommer J.J. [2005] "Processing of strong-motion accelerograms: Needs, options and consequences," Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, Vol. 25, pp. 93–115.
You might also find the manual for BAP (USGS Basic Strong-Motion Accelerogram Processing Software) useful. Here is a link:
http://nsmp.wr.usgs.gov/bap/BAP_v10.pdf
As for the second question, I tried to reproduce the error but was unable to do so. I copied a single column consisting of accelerations from my data file and pasted them into SeismoSignal. I then tried opening the original data file directly with File-Open. I obtained identical results in both cases.
Here are some things to look for:
1. Did you specify the same time step and scale factor when you pasted the data and when you opened the file directly?
2. When you pasted the data I assume that you were careful to capture every line. When you opened the file did you change the "last line" (and all others as well) to make certain you got all the data?
3. Were all results different? Or only one or two? If so, which ones?
If the problem persists and you cannot pinpoint the culprit, perhaps you coul e-mail the file and see if the same thing happens on another computer.
Best of luck marzikm.

Dear Huffe,
thanks for your answers.
I will read these articles.About my second question. I tried again and I gain equal results.

If you send the data file from which you are copying and pasting acceleration values to me via e-mail , then I'll see if I can reproduce the anomaly marzikm.

Marzikm,
I opened your file Coalinga.txt in SeismoSignal and looked at the acceleration, velocity, and displacement plots.
I also pasted the acceleration data from Coalinga.txt into a blank SeismoSignal session. I looked at the acceleration, velocity, and displacement plots.
The two are identical as seen in the figures I sent to you.
I also compared the acceleration values by copying and pasting from SeismoSignal into Excel.
The values are identical.
I also compared ground motion parameters from the two methods of opening the file.
The GMP’s are identical for the two cases. See the table I sent to you.
I wonder if you inadvertently included the 0.01 – the second number in the first line indicating the time step – when you pasted data into SeismoSignal? Or some similar subtle discrepancy?
I suppose it could still be a CPU issue of some sort, but I cannot reproduce your error unless I inadvertently begin and end reading on the wrong lines when I perform a File-Open on Coalinga.txt, or when I include the first line of data when I paste into a blank SeismoSignal session. Could you retrace your steps in both methods and see if you haven’t made a slip-up of one sort or another somewhere?
As a final thought make sure that you have the number of decimal places (Tools-Settings) set to something larger than that the minimum required for the values in your file. I used 9. I don't think that is the problem, but just to make sure.
