Hello SeiSmosoft,
As I heard (and also experienced!) There is a bug in IDA scaling module of seismostruct as it gives wrong results for displacements (and even scaling factors are changed in posproceseoors tables to negatives!). My question is this: can we trust on results of IDA analyses If they look logical or the bug causes the results of IDA analys for all cases come wrong? In other words, the bug always cause major and easy-to-see errors or it is possible to cause some slight errors which cant be noticed by a short look.
I am going to put my thesis on IDA analysis. can I rely on Seismostruct in this way?
when the new version of Seismostruct will be released?
fixing the bug of iDA will be able to remove all IDA module errors totally?
IDA bug

Re: IDA bug
Dear mortezarazi,
This issue is discussed in other posts in this Forum already, including one from your good self of only a few days ago.
As stated in the aforementioned posts, this a known bug that will be corrected in the soon to be released SeismoStruct v6.5 (by "soon" we mean before the end September)
We are not aware of the existence of any of those "slight errors" that you mention, and thus do believe that results can indeed be trusted, but you can always reassure yourself by comparing output from dynamic and IDA analyses (which is something that users should always do anyway, for any analysis type, when using any structural analysis software, since the latter are always provided with a disclaimer).
