Dear Kazem

As we noticed in our recent e-mail exchange, there are several reasons why a model does not converge. IUn your particular case:
(i) Your time step should be chosen equal to the time step of the accelerogram (0.01sec instead of 0.1sec) 0.1sec is a very very big time-step anyway, and this leads to numerical difficulties by itself.
(ii) try to make the convergence criteria a bit more tight, e.g. 1e-4 at least. 1e-3 is very loose and gradually it might lead to numerical difficulties
(iii) The pga of the record you are using for the dynamic analysis is 0.5g. It might simply be structural failure.

For more information, refer to the help system or the manual in the sections on convergence, or preferably carry out a search in the forum for convergence problems.

Hi seismosoft
Two questions:
1-In IDA analysis when this message appears that"the size of output file is very large and seismostruct doesnt support it" it means that the output responses of all nodes and ellements in all steps cant be shown in post-processor module too?or only in output file(.out)?
2-If we increase the "frequency of output" to decrease the size of output file, the values in "Response Maxima" consist the values related to deleted steps?
Thanks

Dear iliya56,

These questions of yours are not related to original theme of this Forum post ("error during analysis"), and it is not very helpful for Forum users trying to find answers to their difficulties when there is a very long post with loads of questions on answers on ever changing topics.

If you wish to start a discussion on a new topic, I would suggest you to create a new post, in the appropriate section (e.g. these latest questions of yours do not really fall within the category "unexpected behaviour/errors").

Rui

PS: in any case, I note that you can readily obtain the answers to your questions by simply running a couple of analyses and comparing the results..
