How to model slab?

Post by rkmazumder »

I am a new user and using academic version of SeismoSoft. I want to perform Displacement based pushover analysis. How to model slab/diaphragm in the SeismoStruct? I am using RC rectangular beam section for my model. Do I need to assign slab load to the beam manually?

Dear rkmazumder,

The slabs are modelled in SeismoStruct as rigid diaphragms. You may find the way to apply rigid diaphragms in the User Manual. The following video might also help you:

In the academic version, where the Building Modeller facility is not available, you may apply the slabs' loads to the beam elements as permanent element loads.
