IDA analysis scaling factors
I have an important question about IDA analysis scaling factors. this problem existes from previous versions until now. in some cases when I perform an IDA analysis for regular frames using some of ground motions records, program gets in touble and gives very overstimated results for some of scale factors. for example when I put sscaling as 0.75, 1 and 1.5 as scaling factor the program gives very large displacements for nodal displacements whearas results will be reasonable if i put the same scale individually in the scaling box. what is the reason?
Re: IDA analysis scaling factors
Hi mortezarazi.
If you will go to the SeismoStruct forum and select the following in succession:
"04-Unexpected behaviour/errors"
"IDA Parameters - Scale Factors"
You will find a discussion regarding a known bug in IDA analysis reporting.
Incidentally, this post should have gone in the SeismoStruct forum, not the SeismoSpect forum. This sort of information will be very valuable to users of the software, but will be difficult to find unless it is reported in the correct forum. So a note to users - please carefully consider which forum section is most appropriate for posting issues.
(note from Seismosoft: we have now moved this post into the correct Forum folder, as pertinently suggested by huffte)
