Bilinear symmetric and asymetric hysteresis

Post by Muntasir »

Can any one provide me the references for the Bilinear symmetric and asymmetric hysteresis model?

Thanks

Upol,

These are very basic response curves/models, for which it may be difficult to find references in the literature.

In any case, as usual, if other users have suggestions..

I also need it for my graduate research project. If reference is not available then can you please provide me the detail hysteresis rules for bilinear symmetric and asymmetric curves.

Dear Rafiqul Haque,

1) bilinear hysteresis rules are quite straightforward and we believe should not require details additional to those given in the Help System already

2) if you wish to confirm such simple rules, you can simply create a model consisting of a link element with the response curve you are interested in, and then run a static time-history analysis, using appropriate cyclic loading histories, to confirm the curve's behaviour

Can you tell me the application of these hysteresis models. They seem to follow quite different rule than traditional ones (e.g. Bilinear kinematic or isotropic hysteresis).
