Acceleration to displacement from data set

Post by zainbinmazhar »

Dear all,

I have a foundation with an accelerometer attached at the top. the foundation is subjected to a cyclic loading ( 3 cycles with 9.62mm amplitude). after removing noise from the data, when I upload the data file to seismosignal to convert the acceleration to displacement. The resultant displacement graphs depict that the displacement in continuously increases with time until the last data entry. Although the displacement is cyclic.

does anyone have an idea about it?

What you get is a record without baseline correction (and possibly filtering). This is a common issue with uncorrected records.
If you apply baseline correction and filtering, this trend in the displacement will disappear. Note however, that these features are supported only by the full version of the program (and not by the academic version)
