Plastic Hinge

Post by ramin moskochi »

hello
I want to model LCF (Linked Column Frame) by seismostruct.
How is the modeling of LCF in seismostruct ?
i do not know if i should model it with Link element(e,g:st-bl) or model it with InfrmFBPH?
Thank you

Dear ramin moskochi,

You may model the linked column with inelastic frame elements. We would suggest the infrmDB element class for stability reasons, provided that its length is relatively small.

How can I assign shear hinge and flexural hinge for column and torsion hinge for beams?

Dear Saramogahed,

You may apply element end releases, available within the element's module. There is a number of examples with end releases available in SeismoStruct's Verification Repor that you may refer to.
