Abnormal Velocity & Displacement Time Series

Post by rashid »

Hi All,

I'm using Seismosignal to get the displacement and velocity response of an acceleration time series from testing. However, the displacement and velocity responses do not seem right. Any suggestion what might be possibly wrong ? See the link for the snapshot of all the time series below.

Thank you.

The accelerogram you are using has not been properly baseline corrected and filtered to remove noise. That appears to be the reason for the large drift in velocity and displacement. If you go to the 'Baseline Correction and Filtering' tab after loading the accelerogram, you can select the desired boxes. Note that you should carefully select the upper and lower filter frequencies so as not to inadvertently remove frequencies in your range of interest.
