No permanent loading in DTHA

Post by BozzaS »

Hello,
I'm a student, for my master degree thesis I'm analyzing a long bridge with multiple piers; one of them has a RC rectangular hollow section.
If I model that pier as a infrmFB element, when I run the Dynamic Time History-Analysis SeismoStruct 2020 skip the permanent loading:

Estimated size of output file: 532152 kB

Permanent Loading
-----------------------------------------

Variable Loading
----------------------------

Time
Time= 0,01000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 3 => Converg)
Time= 0,02000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 2 => Converg)
Time= 0,03000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 1 => Converg)
Time= 0,04000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 1 => Converg)
Time= 0,05000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 1 => Converg)

If I model that pier as a elfrm element, when I run the DTHA SeismoStruct 2020 run first the permanent loading and then the variable loading:

Estimated size of output file: 528893 kB

Permanent Loading
-----------------------------------------

LF= 1,00000, LF_incr= 1,00000 (Iter: 2 => Converg)

Variable Loading
----------------------------

Time
Time= 0,01000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 1 => Converg)
Time= 0,02000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 1 => Converg)
Time= 0,03000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 1 => Converg)
Time= 0,04000, dt= 0,01000 (Iter: 1 => Converg)

Can anyone help me?
Thanks

This is not reasonable. The application of the permanent loads is not related to the type of frame elements. Can you please double check this?
If this is indeed the behavour that you get, please send your model to support@seismosoft.com
