Dynamic Time History Analysis

Post by Saurabh Kumar Sarma »

While carrying out dynamic time history analysis for a 2-D frame, everything from the mass directions to the ground motion direction, I have selected along the x direction only. But after the analysis has completed, on checking the deformed shape, the frame has been found to deform along the y direction also. How can it be solved?

Some more details about your model would be helpful. This sort of question is impossible to answer without more detail, it seems to me. Perhaps I am wrong though.

What you could do is to fixed the out-of-plane deformations (y+rx+rz) in the Restrains page, for all nodes.
