Base Isolator

Post by rbsce.ph »

Hi Seismosoft,

I tried to use a base isolator in my model (see images below), I noticed that the base isolator moves back and forth up until 20secs and afterwards they seem to move uni-directional (the isolator stretches), is this behavior acceptable or is there any problem with my paramaters?

Any comment is appreciated.

Thank you and best regards.

What do you mean with "the base isolator moves back and forth up until 20secs and afterwards they seem to move uni-directional (the isolator stretches)"? If you mean that the building moves in one directions wthiout further resistance, it seems that the isolator has failed, i.e. the inertia forces have exceeded the capacity of the isolator.

Hi,
I am working on pushover analysis of base isolated structures. I have all the required properties for modelling but I am not able to provide the isolator as a link element. Can you kindly help me out? Thanks in advance

Dear Saitejasistla,

You may find models with link elements and isolators in SeismoStruct's Verification models and in the Sample models available in
