Non-Structural Elements

Post by rbsce.ph »

Hi Seismosoft,

For non-structural elements with lightweight mass, what will be the appropriate link model to predict sliding displacement and overturn values?
(See image below, those with green nodes are the non-structural elements in my model.)

Any comments are welcomed.
Thank you.

You might want to consider a mass element connected to the rest of thr structure through a link element that models the friction between the mass and the structure.

You can send your file through Menu>Help>Send Message to Seismosoft, however note that the platform is only available for commercial users.
