Regarding permanent load

Post by mangesh30 »

Dear all,
I have a few questions regarding the weight of structure & load transformation.
1. In seismostruct is there transfer the slab load (DL+LL) to beam automatically?? or we have to give permanent load on beam??
2. While calculating seismic wt. of building the software is being considered the infill wt. along with other members like bm, col & slab ???

Thanks in advance.

1. Refer to the relevant sections of the manual on gravity and weight. The vertical loads can be introduced directly as force loads, or as masses that the transformed to vertical loads (see the Gravity and Mass page of the Project Settings). Masses can be introduced as materials' mass or as additional mass in the Element Classes module of the pre-processor.
2. Yes, if the user has assigned mass to the infill (Element Classes module)

Dear mangesh30,

If you have created the model with the Building Modeller, then the slab's permanent and live loads are automatically distributed to the supporting Beams as additional mass in the corresponding element classes.
