truss/SMA modelling

Post by paanldarzezao »

Hi,

in my thesis work I am trying to apply SMA devices in each node of only one side of the structure and then i have to study how the response varies. I'm trying to insert truss elements into each node and hinging to the other end.
After defining "material", "section" and "element classes", I define "element connectivity" but there are no SMAs defined in the drop-down menu "element classes".
what can I do? do you have any advice to modelling this situation?

Thanks
I'm going crazy

There is a Shape Memory Alloy (se_sma) material which may be used in sections to apply to elements. Have you defined the sections composed of SMA material?
