Grid on slab and rotation

Post by sanya greek »

Hello!

I want to create 1-store building with 4 columns and 1 slab.
How can i put only rotation to the slab?
Can i create a grid of points on slab and get rotations of each point of this slab?

Thank you!

Dear sanya greek,

In SeismoStruct slabs are modelled as rigid diaphragms and additional loads on the supporting beams.
If you want to model the slab in a different way and create a grid of points, you may model the slab with frame elements. Please refer to the Verification Report models Ch4-blind-02A.spf and Ch4-blind-02B.spf.

My question wasn't correct. I understand that the slabs are rigid diaphragms, and want to know displacements and rotations of the slab.
In my case i have slab

How can i get only displacement of the corners of slab? And if can i put control points on the slab to know displacement and rotation of them?

You can only input 'control nodes' by adding the nodes and connecting them with rigid links to the corner nodes of the slab.
The nodal displacements and rotations can be easily extracted from the post-processor
